Sustainable Development and Green Campuses – GreenCamUz Workshops at Opole University of Technology

May 20, 2026

From May 18–22, our university is hosting international workshops organized as part of the Erasmus+ project “GreenCamUz – Green Campus Initiative: Integrating Sustainability into Higher Education in Uzbekistan.” The event brings together 27 representatives of partner universities from Uzbekistan, Turkey, and Lithuania, who are participating throughout the week in an intensive training program prepared by Opole University of Technology.

OUTech plays the role of an expert partner in the project, sharing its experience in implementing solutions related to sustainable development, energy efficiency, and the creation of modern, environmentally friendly academic campuses. The workshops are an important element of international cooperation and the exchange of good practices between partner universities.

The program includes lectures, expert presentations, practical workshops, and study visits. Participants have the opportunity to learn about solutions implemented at Opole University of Technology in the areas of renewable energy sources, energy management, waste management, sustainable transport, and activities supporting the development of green campuses.

The week-long workshop program also includes sessions dedicated to collaborative work on developing course syllabuses related to ecology and sustainable development. Participants are also taking part in eco-driving classes a modern, low-emission, and energy-efficient driving style that promotes a more responsible and sustainable approach to transportation.

Hosting the event at Opole University of Technology marks another step in the development of international academic cooperation and highlights the university’s commitment to environmental protection and promoting the idea of sustainable development in higher education.

The GreenCamUz project is implemented under the Erasmus+ KA2 Capacity Building in Higher Education programme and brings together partners from Poland, Uzbekistan, Lithuania, and Turkey. Its goal is to support the transformation of higher education institutions towards greener and more modern academic campuses.
