
The event is organized in collaboration with the Old University Library, the University Archives, and the Pomeranian State Museum. The seminar will focus on topics such as heritage and monument preservation and the relationship between humans and the sea, explored from historical and cultural perspectives.
Dates: 22–26 June 2026
Format: in-person seminar in Greifswald + online follow-up session
During the seminar participants will explore the changing relationship between humans and the sea from the 16th to the 20th century through perspectives such as:
- art
- politics
- religion
- science
- architecture
- spa culture
Participants will also examine how:
- coastal landscapes,
- tourism infrastructure,
- bioeconomic practices
shape regional identity and spatial transformation in Pomerania.

Recruitment and Participation Rules
Student mobility is organised under the Erasmus+ programme rules. Candidates are required to complete the internal recruitment process conducted by the university.
